Workshop: “Force Field Game – At Work with Solutions”

Jos Kienhuis

What you will have in your hands is the Force Field Game, a training instrument in the form of a game. The game form is represented by the material (board, pawns and dice) and the rules (instruction sheet) and task cards. On the basis of the task cards the players look at their experiences when addressing problems or questions in their everyday practice, and are likely to discover that it will be most useful to focus on solutions, instead of problems. On the task cards some basic assumptions are employed which, not surprisingly, might be called solution focused.

The Force Field Game may be played by a great variety of groups, and in a great variety of settings. Here are a few suggestions:
– training and coaching activities;
– education and training in conversation or communication skills;
– professional support and supervision;
– teambuilding activities.
